US Senior Pickleball Announces Wheelchair Pickleball Events

US Senior Pickleball (USSP) is pleased to announce the introduction of wheelchair pickleball events, beginning with the US Senior Pickleball Southeast Zone Championship presented by Humana which takes place in Raleigh, North Carolina June 11-14, 2026.

Continually striving to enhance the mission of making pickleball inclusive and accessible to any senior who wishes to play, USSP is excited to debut wheelchair pickleball events at its Southeast Zone Championship. Events will include wheelchair singles on Friday June 12, doubles on Saturday June 13, and hybrid doubles (for teams age 50+ comprised of one wheelchair athlete and one standing partner) on Saturday June 13. See more details on PickleballTournaments.com.

“This is the first of hopefully many more wheelchair events at our tournaments later this year including our USSP National Championships presented by Humana,” said USSP President Tony Schneider. “If there is enough interest, we will be there to help develop and support events for the 50+ wheelchair athletes seeking pickleball competition.”

The USSP Southeast Zone Championship presented by Humana will take place at Pin Point Indoor Pickleball in Raleigh, NC, on sixteen indoor courts. Wheelchair athletes wishing to play doubles may register with a partner or can register to be paired with a partner. Discounted early registration ends April 15 and final registration ends May 31. This tournament is a qualifier for the USSP National Championships presented by Humana taking place at Casa Grande, AZ November 30 – December 5, 2026.
